Allow yourself time to rest rather than immediately filling your schedule. Sometimes we can leave a session feeling light, energised and motivated to take on the world, but it's still worth giving yourself a little time to ground and check in with yourself before committing to big plans or social occasions
Give yourself the space to notice what you need, rather than feeling like you have to act on that initial burst of energy straight away
Slow down where you can
1
If you felt cold during your session, it can be supportive to prioritise warming foods and spices afterwards. If you felt hot, cooling foods such as cucumber and fresh green herbs can be a lovely way to nourish yourself and help you feel more balance
These sessions can feel physically and emotionally intense, so give yourself time to rest, replenish and listen to what your body needs afterwards. I also recommend drinking plenty of water to stay hydrated and support your body as you recover from the experience
Stay hydrated and nourish yourself

Spending time in nature can be incredibly grounding after a session, creating space for you to slow down and notice how you’re feeling without the usual distractions. Whether it’s a gentle walk, bare feet on the ground, sitting in the garden or simply getting some fresh air, allow yourself to be present with whatever is coming up for you, without needing to do anything with it or find an explanation for how you feel
Get outside

Make space for what you are feeling
4
If any emotions came up for you during a session, you don’t have to push them away now that you’re home, or feel like you need to find an explanation for them
If you’re still feeling some emotions after a session, this is completely normal. Your body may still be processing the experience, and sometimes feelings need a little more time and space
The best way to support yourself is to allow those feelings to be there, without judging them or trying to make them go away. You might gently say to yourself…
‘Okay, I know you’re still feeling grief (anger, sadness, etc). I see you, I hear you, and I’m here with you. You don’t need to hide this from me or push it away. You’re allowed to feel this’
You don’t need to fix the feeling or figure everything out right now. Sometimes, simply acknowledging what’s there and offering yourself the compassion you might offer someone else is enough
Working with what comes up
Sometimes a session can bring awareness to feelings, memories, beliefs or patterns that you haven't fully acknowledged before
If something comes up, you don't need to unpack it all at once. You can take your time, notice what you're feeling and allow yourself to approach it in a way that feels manageable
You don't need to find a profound meaning in everything that happened. You are allowed to leave some things unanswered
And remember, you don't have to relive difficult experiences or push yourself into uncomfortable feelings for integration to take place
Journal Prompts
You don't need to answer every question and you don't need to write anything at all if it doesn't feel right for you. Let yourself be guided by what feels supportive in the moment, and remember that you don't need to make sense of everything straight away
